Vehicle Description 1972 Chevelle looking for its forever home.
It's a complete frame off restoration.
The car was stripped completely and put on my rotisserie and repaired while the frame and suspension pieces went off to the sand blaster and was powder coated black.
When the chassis came back from the powder coater, it received all new bushings, bearings, brakes and HD sway bars.
It has front and rear power disk brakes.
The 10-bolt rear diff was also powder coated black and now holds a limited slip and 3:
73 ring and pinon.
I have a 12-bolt diff housing that you're welcome to if you want to turn this bad boy into a serious drag car.
I had it powder coated to match the chassis.
Under the hood is a 2017 Silverado Gen 5 5.
3 L83 V8.
It's one of the new style GM direct Injected V8 engines.
It has a corvette intake manifold to keep the height down and fit under the hood.
Stock exhaust manifolds feed dual exhaust.
It's not too loud and not too quiet.
Perfect for cruising around, but has a nice snarl when you decide to give it some gas.
I purchased the engine/trans combo from Engine Swap Supply, in Houston Texas.
I was told this engine/trans have approx.
10k miles on it when it was removed from a 2017 2wd Silverado.
No smoke, no leaks.
Runs like a champ!! Behind the engine is a six-speed automatic transmission, the 6L80E.
It has a short pan off a Pontiac G8 to give maximum ground clearance.
Runs and shifts great.
I added a new style GM shifter with the shift buttons for manual shifting.
You'll have to add the aftermarket manual shift brain box for it if you want to manually bang through the gears.
When I was putting the rig together, the boxes were a little buggy, and I never got around to installing one now all the bugs are worked out.
This car has Vintage Air a/c, power steering, all four windows are power up/down, stock interior with all new seats, dash pad, dash assembly, knobs, door panels, and carpet.
Before installing the interior, I lined the entire inside of the car with Dynamat Extreme.
Floor, sides, doors, roof, you name it, it's probably covered in Dynamat.
Completely changes way old cars are to drive! Vintage air tied to the stock GM compressor, Retrosound stereo system with custom kick panel speakers, and a custom-built center console for the new style Camaro shifter round out the interior.
Monitoring the engine, is a set of Dakota Digital gauges.
They interface directly with the OBDII of the engine and can display almost anything you'd like.
I have them set to show multiple options, but you can choose almost anything you'd like to monitor on the engine.
They even show 0-60 times and mile times! I finished this beautiful car up a few weeks back and have been driving it back and forth to work and around town.
So far, I've put 150 miles on the odometer with no issues whatsoever.
I plan to keep driving it every day till it sells.
Only time I won't be driving it is when the roads freeze up.
It's a lot of fun to drive! I've got a full shop of other projects and am looking to sell it to make some room to try to finish them up.
